Glossy Box: Think Pink Box

This is a new concept box by Glossy Box available to its regular subscribers. The first box explores ageing and which products are best. Also 10p per box is donated to Breast Cancer Awareness. Originally I wasn't going to purchase this box but after seeing Kate's Review on Ghost Parties I was totally sold. The box features:

  • Mama Mio’s Clean Slate cleanser (30ml sample) - designed to provide you with a ten day trial and the softest skin ever (£22.50 for 150ml)

  •  REN’s Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask ( 15ml sample) - for tighter, more even and radiant skin - plus reduced fine lines (£30 for 50ml)

  • Ole Henriksen’s truth serum collagen booster (15ml sample) - for a shot of 5 types of Vitamin C to protect and perfect (£47 for 30ml)

  • Kosmea’s radiance 24/7 youth boost (3ml sample) - for a boost in anti-oxidants to hydrate and improve radiance (£29.95 for 20ml)

  •  Moroccanoil’s Treatment (25ml sample)- for oh-so-glossy locks to complement your oh-so-perfect skin (£30.45 for 100ml)

Overview

I really loved this box. All the products are something I'd use, and most are ones that I've been wanting to try, namely the REN Mask and the Ole Henriksen Serum. Also there is the Think Pink magazine which explains the products and also has useful beauty tips for women of different ages. I would recommend picking one of these up before they sell out. I can't wait to see more of these special edition boxes soon. Reviews on all products coming shortly.....

Glossy Box October: First Impressions

DIY Beauty- In The Box

.Anatomicals Don't Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It - Body Scrub 75ml Scrub
.Yves Rocher France Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser - Full Size 30ml/£18
.Skinetica Anti- Blemish Treatment 10ml Sample
.Green People Organic Self Tan 20ml Sample
.Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Black Platinum Full Size £6.99/14.7ml

First Impressions

This is the first Glossy Box I have received on time, and it was quite exciting to receive to Glossy Boxes within 2 days, however the contents was a little underwhelming this month. The box had a "DIY Pamper" theme however I'd hardly say that rang true with the products included. There was nothing indulgent about any of the products, and I wouldn't consider them to be luxurious in any way. I can find use for all of them except the fake tan which I would never use. The one I'm most excited about is the Yves Rocher France Instant Anti-Wrinkle Moisturiser as I like trying new anti ageing products. However with the sheer volume of anti ageing stuff I've been receiving from Glossy Box over the past few months it's starting to give me a complex about being old. This is the most expensive product in the box and kind of makes up for the other stuff.  The Skinetica Anti- Blemish Treatment is a product I wouldn't purchase if I saw it in the shops being on the cheap side, but I will happily try this sample out when I have a breakout to see if it is any good. Although I  always find the mini body washes great for travel I would have liked to have seen a more expensive one in the box; the Anatomicals range is not one I've really heard of before but I did notice a full size in the bargain section of the supermarket which doesn't give me much hope this will be that great. The last product the Sally Hansen polish is not something I'd usually be bothered about, not being a regular nail varnish wearer, but I like this shade and will be trying it out. Will review these products in full shortly...

Glossy Box- September

I had a bit of a bad luck streak with my September Beauty Boxes, 4 different ones didn't turn up. I didn't even hear back from the other companies (Amitee & Lux), but after a few emails Glossy Box got back to me and admitted that my box just hadn't been sent out but they would send another. After last months disaster of receiving a damaged box this was very annoying, luckily my replacement arrived quickly. This is what I received in my "Rising Stars" box:

In The Box
. Lady GAGA Fame Fragrance- Sample
.RODIAL Glamoxy Snake Serum & 5 Minute Facial
.Balance Me: Wonder Eye Cream- Travel Size
.Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Complex- Sample
. Sexy Hair- Spray & Play- Travel Size
First Impressions
My favourite part of this box was the actual box... the design is very pretty and fun. The contents was also pleasing, although it is a bit disappointing not to receive any full size products. The Lady GAGA fragrance is one I'm very interested to try as it is something I'd probably buy. Also the Sexy Hair range is one that I've been wanting to try for a few years so I was pleased to see this in the box. The Rodial range is not one that I've ever heard of before but the products look interesting and I will look forward to trying these. The olay wrinkle product is one that I keep hearing about so it will be interesting to try this to see if it is worth the hype. The only product I was not fussed on was the Balance Me eye cream which I have tried before; it's not bad but I keep receiving samples of it and would have liked something else I hadn't used before. Will be reviewing these soon....

Glossy Box: August

.Glossybox Lipstick in Glossy Pink

First Impressions

The August Box is my most hated Glossy Box so far.

Things started off badly when I opened the box.... the info card was missing. Annoying yes, but I could find out about the products online so that wasn't too bad. Then I noticed the seal on my box had been broken and when I looked inside it was covered in filthy dust. Yuk! Then I noticed the palette included had a damaged box! After this even the best products couldn't have pleased me, but this selection is truly awful. I want to know if these are best selling products who's buying them?
In terms of the products the only two I can really use is the cleansing oil, which is a good size for me to travel with and the lipcote. But would I spend £12.99 on these two? No I would not.
The worst product is the green eyeshadow palette, it reminds me of those play makeup sets you had for children in the 80s, or something from Kath & Kim! I don't think I could even give this away. The nail stuff I'm sure is alright if you like nail stuff but it specifically says on my beauty profile NO NAIL samples, yet every month there they are. Other people get nail free boxes why can't I. The lipstick too I'm sure would be fine but I don't wear shades like this.
After discovering the poor and damaged condition of my box I contacted Glossy Box and asked if I sent the box back could I have a replacement or a refund. Because really why should I pay for a dirty damaged box, with the risk that it has already been opened. Someone did get back to me quite quickly asking if I could send photos, which I did. And the next day I was told I could have a replacement palette.... that I don't even want. Considering the overall damage and condition of the box I really should have been offered a full refund or a replacement. Tut Tut Glossy Box. After this I'm thinking of cancelling my subscription.....
